“Paperduck”

YOUR HEADLINE

As part of a class assignment, we were tasked with creating a “personal brand” — something that would represent us with a logo, brand statement, and name. So over the course of a week we were to develop an identity and brand stylescape to go along with it.

YOUR HEADLINE

As part of the creation of paper duck I wanted to highlight the “WHY” as in “Why does it have to be a duck?” “Why a paperduck?” So this was a fun exercise in trying to validate why this name was so appealing to me. I wanted to create a mission statement that felt authentic and give an insight into my goals with graphic design.

YOUR HEADLINE

Showing off the logo variations are important since I won’t always have access to my custom colors— or if some projects won’t fit an orange aesthetic. So creating logo variations is a good way to ensure that the logo looks great no matter what.

YOUR HEADLINE

The fonts and swatches are the base rules that the PAPERDUCK brand will follow. Using an adobe provided font Korolev Bold, Korlev Light, as well as some other appearance modifiers to ensure that the logo colors, wordmarks, and aesthetic is consistent no matter the situation.

YOUR HEADLINE

Finally a mockup of what the business cards would look like. Personally I thought that a quirky brand name like PAPERDUCK needed a quirky and fun business card shape to be considered. A square business card helped achieve that since squares are so matter-of-fact and yet they are not as common in the business card space.
